Pet Friendly Page

For those of us who have pets, love pets and are involved in the rescue and care of those that can not help themselves.

This is my 6 year old Weimaraner, Reilly. He is one of the best things that has ever come into my life. Of course we all like to show off our pets. So of course I will post more of him as I build this page.

APRIL, 2012
PREVENTION OF ANIMAL CRUELTY MONTH
In order to create a humane society, we must speak up and stop cruelty against animals. If you have information regarding animal cruelty or neglect in your area, report it to your local Animal Services. Your call can save the life of an animal.

SAFETY FIRST

As dog or cat guardians (and for most of us, we use the term parent),

We must approach the necessity of cleaning with a non-traditional thinking.

Not only do we have to worry about the effects of cleaning products on our own health, but we have to be concerned about the more susceptible health of our pets. The fresh start we achieve by deep cleaning the nooks and crannies of our living spaces is an awesome feeling.

However, so many consumers fail to think about how the household cleaning solutions and implements we use throughout the year affect the four-legged members of our families.

Since animals are obviously closer to the ground, they are in direct contact with the residue of most cleaning products. This makes them more vulnerable to poisoning, which could result in illness or death.

If we really think about it, like children, dogs are inquisitive. And if they can get in a cabinet or have access to a bucket and get something; they are going to chew on it, lick it or worse, they will eat it.

One of the most common places people use caustic chemicals is in the bathroom. Guess what; as much as we hate to think about it, dogs drink out of the toilet. If you have to use something caustic to clean the bathroom, close the toilet bowl lid. If you are going to spray something on the tile, turn on the ceiling fans, and get out, close the door and wait 15 minutes before you go back in. And more importantly, make sure your pets stay out of the area for at least 4 hours.

If you use something on the floors, rinse the floor with at least three passes of clean water. Dogs and cats walk directly on those surfaces and then lick their paws.

But you are here because you are looking for an alternative. Green Lady Cleaning uses nothing but 100% bio-degradable and non-toxic cleaning solutions.

As a socially-responsible company, Shaklee does not conduct animal testing, we have never conducted animal testing, and we will never conduct animal testing. We have never done business with any lab that conducts tests on animals.

Shaklee's corporate headquarters was bombed years ago by an individual who mistakenly targeted us for animal testing which had nothing to do with us or our products and was in fact conducted separately by a pharmaceutical corporation that owned Shaklee at the time (we have been independent since 2004).

Unfortunately, the record of this misguided act of violence sometimes creates confusion that erroneously links our company with animal testing. Nothing could be further from the truth and we appreciate this opportunity to correct the record.
